It seemed clear: Blizzard is planning a Diablo game for the Nintendo console switch. What that will be, was not clear at first, yet the enthusiasm was once great. The well-known game developer responded a little later to the fan euphoria and dampened the same.Because they told Eurogamer that they have no current plans to announce Diablo for the Switch.
This denial was rather unusual, as the well-known gaming side in their Blizzard related sources has said. These in turn have confirmed that a game is in production, unsurprisingly it is a port of Diablo 3. The sources of Eurogamer could not confirm, however, whether the two expansions Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer are on board, but their absence would be a big surprise at the current time.
Blizzard itself has described the Twitter post as “little fun for (fan) participation” that you should not worry about. This is quite common in Blizzard, the developer is known for early teasers and hints that (should) provide guesswork. Nintendo, on the other hand, is much more conservative and announces games, even those from third-party vendors, relatively shortly before the release or official announcement.
One can therefore speculate whether an announcement is imminent or whether Blizzard and Nintendo will take quite some time. A Diablo 3 for Switch would be in any case a fine thing.
