After Microsoft released an emergency patch for Windows 10 on January 3, the patch for Windows 10 Mobile follows.The cumulative updates are now available and provide initial fixes for the dangerous CPU bugs.

As with the Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and Windows 10 Emergency Patch, Microsoft will continue to release additional processor vulnerability customizations for the individual chips later on.Now there is the emergency patch for the Windows 10 Mobile versions Anniversary Update and Creators Update. The software company has adapted its release notes accordingly in the Windows 10 update history. Also for the case Creators Update there is now a Mobile Update.

The new versions have the build numbers OS Build 15063.850 (entry KB4056890 ) and 14393.2007 ( KB4056891 ). For the Creators Update case Windows 10 Mobile users still have the version number 15254.158 ( KB4073117 ). The notes in the knowledge base about the updates barely mention details. Microsoft has just added the list for the desktop versions. So it says in the individual entries now only that the release also contains updates for Windows 10 Mobile, which were published on 5 January 2018. This update does not introduce any new operating system properties, but important changes include Internet Explorer security updates, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Microsoft Edge, Windows Graphics, Windows Kernel, Windows Subsystem for Linux and the Windows SMB server. “ Details of Specter and Meltdown cannot be found here.

It is praiseworthy of Microsoft that the group has fixed its basically abandoned mobile operating system so quickly – other large and also affected smartphone manufacturers and OS providers are still working on a solution against the CPU vulnerabilities.
