How convenient would it be to order from an eatery on your way to work and just pick it up without waiting? Well, Waze has done that for you! You can now order food from Dunkin Donut in advance and just pick it up.
Waze is a community-based navigation and traffic app. Drivers share real-time traffic updates and road information, saving everyone fuel money and time on their daily commute. Users of Waze will now be able to order their morning coffee directly from the navigation application, then go to the next Dunkin’ Donuts to pick them up. The feature is the first partnership between a merchant of any kind and Waze. It lets drivers buy Dunkin’ food and coffee in advance without using the DD Perks application. But they will still be required to be a registered user of the DD app. If the trial goes well, Waze will add more order ahead options, so that its 50 million users can get fill a prescription, pizza, or even buy supermarket items. Basically, the idea is that you can order anything in advance and just go and pick it up. You can order anything from Dunkin Donuts with one tap on the Waze app but you must have DD Perks app installed too. Later on, the operations of both the apps will be consolidated so you will not have to use DD Perks app along with Waze to place your orders. Google owns Waze, so it is a move towards a future where riders in autonomous apps can use their phones to order whatever they want. The order ahead option must be availed before you leave your parking spot. To use this feature, simply launch Waze and search for Dunkin Donuts. Waze will automatically find the location closest to you. Choose the location and select ‘order ahead’. Select something from the Dunkin Donuts menu, and customize your order. You can also use DD Perks rewards and offers. When you are ready, tap ‘I am ready for pick up’. Then just go to that Dunkin Donuts outlet and surpass the queue and pick your order!
